After an 8-hour flight, we (my sister Ann and I) arrived in Paris a little after 8 am. Caught a shuttle to the hotel. Narrow streets much? Got to the hotel, just a few blocks from the red light district, but relatively safe, about 30 minutes later. Much to our amazement and happiness, we were greeted by Laurent with the news that our room was all ready for us. Score!
Settled in the room and waited for Hayley, who arrived about an hour later. She had traveled on the overnight train from Florence.
Set out on foot to explore the city. Culture shock set in. I can only describe the Paris streets as a Disney movie come to life. It really is like that. The vibe is like nothing I have ever experienced.
A few hours later we took the metro (Subway) back to our hotel. After a little R/R, we found a cafe on Clinchey Street and had dinner. My salad had fried potatoes on top of it. Weird, but good.
Following a quick stop at a pasterie for dessert, we made our way "home" and got ready for bed.
